Government of Punjab inks MoU with Microsoft to enhance citizen services, drive digital inclusion

Chandigarh /Kolkata, June 1 : : In an effort to augment the quality of citizen services in the state, the Government of Punjab today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft India to use cloud computing infrastructure for better facilities in education, agriculture and healthcare for citizens.
The State Government has been using an advanced IT infrastructure to provide citizen services since 2013. The Government now plans to extend the network across the State using cloud computing infrastructure.
Todays MoU with Microsoft will help the Government access the best of Microsofts technology and expertise for improvement of digital services to citizens and drive digital inclusion in the state.
Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Punjab, said, We are committed to harnessing the power of technology to deliver better citizen services and drive digital inclusion in the state.
