Crab Stick recipes by star chef Vikas Khanna

Here are some of the recipes for Gadre Premium Seafood by Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna. Crab Sticks is one of the signature product of the company.

Cold coconut and crabstick soup

Preparation Time: 25 mins

Product Used: Gadre Crab Sticks

Recipe Overview: With a typical coconut flavour, the Cold coconut crab stick soup is heavenly.


o Gadre crab sticks

o Desiccated coconut

o Coconut milk

o Pine nuts

o Salt

o Black Pepper

o Chili Flakes

o Coriander Oil

o Cut the coconut into small pieces and put it into a grinder.

o Add coconut milk and Gadre crab sticks and grind it into a fine paste.

o Roast the pine nuts in a heated pan and then add salt to it.

o In a glass, pour the coconut crab sticks puree.

o Garnish with roasted pine nuts, black pepper and chili flakes.

o Drizzle coriander oil and serve it cold.

Crab Cakes

Preparation Time: 25 mins

Product Used: Gadre Crab Sticks

Recipe Overview: A crab cake is a variety of fishcake, popular over the world. It is composed of crab meat and various other ingredients, such as crushed crackers, mayonnaise, eggs, and seasonings. Crab cakes are served as a starter or side dish.


o 2 packets pound Gadre crab sticks

o 1/3 cup crushed crackers (recommended: Ritz)

o 3 green onions (green and white parts), finely chopped

o 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper

o 1/4 cup mayonnaise

o 1 egg

o 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

o 1 teaspoon dry mustard

o 1/2 lemon, juiced

o 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

o 1 teaspoon salt

o Dash cayenne pepper

o Flour, for dusting

o 1/2 cup peanut oil

o In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients, except for the flour and peanut oil.

o Shape into patties and dust with flour.

o Add Mayonaise in the centre while shaping it into patties.

o Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When oil is hot, carefully place crab cakes, in batches, in pan and fry until browned, about 4 to 5 minutes.

o Carefully flip crab cakes and fry on other side until golden brown, about 4 minutes.

o Serve warm with preferred sauce

Crabstick noodles

Preparation Time: 20 mins

Product Used: Gadre Crab Sticks

Recipe Overview: Chopped veggies with noodles mixed with crab sticks, truly appetising.


o Gadre Crab Sticks

o Spring Onion, chopped only the green stem

o Glass Noodles

o Peanuts, fried

o Soya sauce

o Vegetable Stock

o Kafer Lime Leaves

o Chili Fakes

o Sesame oil

o Lime Juice

o Salt

Preparation Method

o Boil the glass noodles with oil and vegetable stock.

o In a hot pan add sesame oil, chopped green stem of spring onions, fried peanuts,

o kafer lime leaves, chili flakes, lime juice, salt and saute .

o In a bowl, mix the tempering with the boiled glass noodles.

o Garnish with Gadre crab sticks and serve hot.

Preparation Time: 35 mins

Recipe Overview: The Crab and corn soup is creamy, fast to cook, easy and very tasty - a dish found in mainly in Chinese, American-Chinese and Canadian-Chinese cuisines.


o 1 medium potato, chopped

o 2 tbsp butter

o 3 cups vegetable stock

o 3 cups frozen corn

o 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

o 1 Packet Gadre Crab Sticks

o 1/2 cup cream

o 1/2 teaspoon salt

o 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation Method

o Heat a large saucepan with vegetable Stock add potatoes.

o Add corn and heavy cream; bring to a boil.

o Add salt pepper for taste.

o Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

o Remove from the heat; cool slightly.

o Add Crab Sticks in to the pan.

o Stir in the Gadre crab sticks, cream, salt and pepper; cook over low heat until heated through (do not boil).
