Punjab Law Minister Sanaullah's statement draws flak
Lahore, May 19 : Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah's statement about Punjab government's "inaction" against some banned outfits has drawn flak from one of the groups he mentioned in his interview to a foreign channel."Rana is deliberately creating confusion in order to support a concocted agenda," the Dawn quoted a Jamaat-ud-Dawah spokesman, as saying.
Sanaullah on Tuesday in an interview to BBC Urdu said that legal action against proscribed organisations like Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Jaish-i-Mohammed (JeM) was not possible since the "state itself has remained a part of this".
The spokesman added that the Lahore High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan have clearly stated that there is no ban on Jamaatud Dawa(JUD).
Meanwhile, Sanaullah said that that his statement had been quoted out of context by the channel concerned while it was in the background of the state's policy on Kashmir, etc.
He declined to comment further on the issue.
