Congress Party's strength is to solve most complex problems: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, May 28 : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said his party's greatest strength is to solve the most 'complex problems', and also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to deliver on his promises during his first year in office.
"I have learnt that discipline is a way of killing individuality. That is what others believe in. We say you should talk about everything. They say you cannot talk about the Telangana issue or anything else," he added.
The Gandhi scion also targeted the RSS for its influence over the BJP.
"Look at RSS cadres. They always stand in a straight line, and if anyone steps even a little out of line, they get caned. Discipline is an excuse for them, an excuse to kill individuality. Stop the government from allowing the RSS to interfere with governance," he said.
The Congress vice president also reserved much of his barbs for Prime Minister Modi.
"The Prime Minister went to China, France, Nepal and even as far as Mongolia, but he has not visited the house of any farmer or labourer. [Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections] he said that he will bring back the black money to India within 100 days. One year has passed, but the black money has not come," he said.
"At first, Prime Minister Modi terms education as empowerment, and then his government introduces cuts in the education budget," he added.
Rahul Gandhi also managed to have a new spin on Prime Minister Modi's Wednesday meeting with his predecessor, Dr Manmohan Singh.
"Yesterday, Manmohan ji said that the economy is going down, and after that, Prime Minister Modi called him and took economic lessons for an hour," he said.
