Zendaya reveals her favourite thing about husband Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man'

Los Angeles, June 18

Hollywood star Zendaya has heaped praise on her husband Tom Holland's "Spider-Man" and how he copes with the pressure of being the web-slinging superhero.

The 29-year-old actress stars alongside Holland in the money-spinning Spider-Man movie franchise, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

She told Fandango's Big Ticket: "My favourite thing about Tom's Spider-Man is how Tom handles Spider-Man outside of Spider-Man. So many people connect to this character - to Peter Parker, to Spider-Man. Especially young people, especially children."

The actress, who stars alongside Tom in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, added: "He's just handled that weight with such grace, and really loves and cares so much about the character and what the character means to other people."

Zendaya is particularly impressed by how Holland handles himself in front of young fans, telling him directly: "I just love seeing what and how you carry Spider-Man through your life in real life."

Meanwhile, Holland had earlier said that drinking was "getting in the way" of his career at one point in time.

The 30-year-old actor quit drinking in January 2022 and Tom described alcohol as an "incredibly dangerous thing", reports feamelfirst.co.uk.

The Spider-Man star told USA Today: "I've been so lucky in the last four years that my career has really blossomed in a really lovely way, and I really love what's happening and what I have to come in the future. And I don't know how much of that would've come to fruition had I still been drinking."

Holland faces intense scrutiny over his personal life, and he believes that alcohol actually makes the stresses of fame even worse.

The actor, who worked with Zendaya on the Spider-Man films before they started dating, shared: "Drinking was something that was ultimately really getting in the way of my professional life.

"Being an actor and living your life on the big stage can be really stressful. And I think that alcohol, for me personally, really compounded that issue. And, since getting rid of the booze and feeling more like myself and waking up clear-headed every day and fresh to start the day, I just feel so much more confident in myself as who I am as a person."

As someone who grew up watching Spider-Man cartoons, seeing Tom Holland bring such sincerity to Peter Parker is amazing. Zendaya is right - the way he carries himself off-screen matters just as much. Kids need role models like him in today's world.

This is exactly why I respect Tom Holland. He openly spoke about quitting drinking to focus on his career - that takes guts. In India, we also need more celebrities who talk about these issues without stigma. Kudos to both of them! 👏

I appreciate Zendaya's perspective but let's not ignore the pressure that comes with being a global icon like Spider-Man. Tom handling it gracefully is commendable, but Hollywood's scrutiny on personal lives is unhealthy. Hope he stays strong! 💪

As a massive Spider-Man fan, this makes me so happy! Tom and Zendaya are relationship goals. His decision to quit drinking shows real maturity - especially when you're under constant media spotlight. Can't wait for Brand New Day! 🕷️❤️

It's interesting how the article focuses on Tom's drinking issues. While I admire his honesty, I wish they'd talk more about his acting range rather than personal struggles. Anyway, glad he's doing better now. Both seem like grounded people.
