Yogi Adityanath to honour board students in Lucknow; distribute land ownership rights to Pakistan-displaced families in Bijnor

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday will honour the students who excelled in the central and state-level board examinations of the Secondary Education Department in Lucknow.
The UP Board 2026 High School and Intermediate Board examinations commenced on February 18 and concluded on March 12. The results were declared on April 23.
Similarly, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12th exams from February 17 to April 10, while results were declared on May 13. The results for the CBSE class 10th were declared on April 15th.
After honouring the students, Adityanath will head to Bijnor, where he will distribute land ownership rights certificates to families displaced from Pakistan and to former soldiers and lessees. He will also distribute the approval letters and assistance amounts to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM-YUVA)
PMAY is a credit-linked subsidy scheme by the Central Government to facilitate access to affordable housing for the low and moderate-income residents. CM-YUVA scheme is a major initiative launched to connect the educated and trained youth of the state with self-employment and entrepreneurship. The scheme provides interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh to youth to set up their own businesses.
The Uttar Pradesh CM will also inaugurate the 'Vidur Prerna Cafe' operated by the mother power of self-help groups and the Common Service Centre.
"Honouring talent, encouraging diligence, empowering womanhood, and committing to the upliftment of the last--these are the cornerstones of a developed Uttar Pradesh," Yogi Adityanath said in a post on X.
On Saturday, Adityanath inaugurated the 'Nausena Shaurya Vatika', a premier open-air naval museum and memorial park in Lucknow.
Speaking on the occasion, the Uttar Pradesh CM emphasised that development can only thrive in a strong security environment, recalling the lawlessness that plagued the state before 2017.
"Development plans can only progress effectively in a better security environment. Remember, before 2017, this very Uttar Pradesh used to have curfews every day. Professional mafia and criminals had made life difficult. Just as our army protects the borders under all circumstances, it is also the duty of citizens to respect those soldiers," he said.

Honoring students is nice, but what about the quality of education in UP government schools? Many are still struggling with basic infrastructure. And the land distribution for displaced families is good, but I hope it's not just a photo-op. Implementation matters more than announcements. Still, credit where it's due for trying to address these issues.
The emphasis on security and development is spot on. Before 2017, UP was notorious for its lawlessness. Now, at least we can see some progress. The CM-YUVA scheme with interest-free loans upto Rs 5 lakh is a game-changer for young entrepreneurs. And "Vidur Prerna Cafe" run by self-help groups is a wonderful initiative for women empowerment. 👏
Interesting to see how local governance here is so hands-on with student achievements and refugee rehabilitation. In my experience back in the UK, such events are rare at the Chief Minister level. The mix of education, housing, and veteran welfare in a single day shows a comprehensive approach. Though I wonder about the long-term follow-up on these schemes.
The 'Nausena Shaurya Vatika' museum sounds impressive! It's important to honor our naval heroes too. And I appreciate that Yogi ji links development with security – nobody can study or do business in a riot-prone environment. But I hope the land rights for displaced families are actually registered properly, not just symbolic certificates. 🙏
