Women's empowerment and protection of minority rights will receive fresh impetus: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

Delhi government has constituted the Delhi Commission for Women and the Delhi Minorities Commission on the directions of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, with orders appointing the chairpersons and members of both panels issued.
Lata Gupta has been appointed Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, while Shyam Bala, Malti Verma, Lata Sodhi, Sanrika Sharma Jha and Renu Bhalla have been appointed as its members.
Nirmal Jain has been appointed Chairperson of the Delhi Minorities Commission, with Kuldeep Singh and Mohammad Haroon nominated as its members.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the move aims to strengthen the protection of women's rights, promote their empowerment and ensure the welfare of minority communities and effective protection of their constitutional rights.
CM Gupta said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has given a new direction to good governance, women's empowerment, social justice and inclusive development. Carrying forward the same vision, the Delhi Government is ensuring that women and minority communities receive effective protection of their rights, dignified opportunities and timely justice.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, the Delhi CM said that the "Delhi Commission for Women and the Delhi Minorities Commission are not merely statutory bodies but important platforms that will strengthen public trust and amplify the voices of the weaker and disadvantaged sections of society."
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Chairpersons and Members of both Commissions would discharge their responsibilities with fairness, sensitivity and complete transparency, while playing a significant role in the prompt and effective resolution of matters concerning public interest.
According to the Chief Minister, the Delhi Government remains committed to ensuring dignity, safety and equal opportunities for every section of society. She said the Delhi Commission for Women will play an effective role in protecting women's rights, ensuring the speedy redressal of their grievances and helping them secure justice.
The Delhi Minorities Commission, meanwhile, will work to safeguard the interests of minority communities and promote their welfare and inclusive development.
