Will SRH pacer Sakib Hussain's 'no-six' streak end against RR?

SRH pacer Sakib Hussain has bowled 12 overs without conceding a six in IPL 2025. Can he keep the streak alive against Rajasthan Royals' power-packed batting line-up?

"Sakib is yet to be hit for a six across his 12 overs bowled so far, the most overs bowled by a bowler without being hit for a six this season - Cricbuzz"

Jaipur, April 25

Ahead of Sunrisers Hyderabad away clash against Rajasthan Royals, all eyes will be on the Bihar right-arm pacer Sakib Hussain, who has had a really fine start to his Indian Premier League career.

With SRH highly likely to witness the return of their regular captain Pat Cummins, the fourth-placed team will be eyeing their fifth win of the season, while Riyan Parag-led RR will be aiming to stay within the top four as well.

Sakib, who had played just six first-class games and 12 T20Is with his professional debut in 2022, made his IPL debut against the same opposition less than two weeks back and, along with fellow debutant Praful Hinge, broke the back of the Royals' batting line-up, getting 4/24 on debut, including wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Donovan Ferreira.

In three matches so far, Sakib has taken six wickets at an average of 14.16 and an economy rate of 7.08, having been among the wickets in all three appearances so far. What is even more remarkable that the pacer is yet to be hit for a six across his 12 overs bowled so far, the most overs bowled by a bowler without being hit for a six this season, as per Cricbuzz.

Will Sakib be able to retain his happy streak against a power-packed RR line-up of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel? Impressive debut for Sakib, but I wonder if teams will figure out his variations soon. RR has some explosive batsmen like Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi, so this could be a real test. Should be a cracker of a match! 🤞

Finally SRH giving chances to domestic talents like Sakib and Praful! It's great to see someone from small town Bihar making it big. Hope he keeps his cool and continues his no-six streak. Go Sakib! 🇮🇳🏏

It's a great story so far, but let's be realistic—facing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal in T20s is a different beast. Sakib's economy is good, but his no-six streak might end sooner rather than later. Still rooting for the underdog though! 🏏

Sakib kaafi impressive hai, but I wish SRH management also focuses on getting Pat Cummins back in form. Without a strong captain, the team might struggle. But for now, let's enjoy this young pacer's success. Fingers crossed! 🤞🙏

The no-six stat is wild! 12 overs without a six in T20 cricket is no joke. But RR's middle order is packed, and if Jofra Archer gets going with the bat too, Sakib might have his work cut out. This should be a fun match to watch! 🍿
