Will interanlise the resolutions: CM Dhami on PM Modi's message to pilgrims on Char Dham Yatra
Kedarnath, April 22
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his message to the Char Dham Yatra pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand to maintain cleanliness, support local businesses, and follow rules and regulations, and expressed hope that the people will "internalise" these resolutions.
Thanking the Prime Minister, CM Dhami said, "Respected Prime Minister Ji, on this auspicious occasion of the opening of the portals of Shri Kedarnath Dham on the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, heartfelt thanks for your message filled with devotion."
"The Char Dham Yatra is not only a symbol of faith, but it also strengthens our eternal culture, traditions, and national unity. Under your guidance and inspiration, we are committed to ensuring a safe, well-organised, and divine journey for all devotees," he said.
"We, the people of the state, and devotees coming from all over the world, will internalise the resolutions you have given and make the Char Dham Yatra-2026 divine and grand," the Chief Minister added.
As the portals of Kedarnath Dham opened on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand to maintain cleanliness, support the 'Vocal for Local' initiative by purchasing indigenous products, and adhere strictly to rules and regulations, while stressing the need for environmental sensitivity, cooperation and discipline, throughout the Char Dham Yatra.
In a letter addressed to the countrymen, he said that a 'Viksit Uttarakhand' is crucial for achieving the broader goal of a 'Viksit Bharat'. He stressed the need to preserve the region's ecological balance.
PM Modi further called for mindful travel in the fragile Himalayan ecosystem. Highlighting the broader spirit of the pilgrimage, he said it is "not merely about seeking darshan, but also a means to foster a spirit of service and social harmony".
The opening of Kedarnath Dham took place amid Vedic chants and resonating cheers of "Har Har Mahadev", marking a key moment in the annual pilgrimage season and allowing devotees to offer prayers at one of Hinduism's most revered shrines.
Devotees from across the country gathered in large numbers to witness the occasion and seek blessings at the sacred temple.

Good to see the leadership emphasizing environmental sensitivity. The Himalayas are fragile. A successful Yatra isn't just about numbers, it's about preserving Devbhoomi for future generations. Jai Baba Kedarnath! 🏔️
While the message is perfect, the real test is implementation. The state government must ensure adequate facilities, waste management, and crowd control. Last time, the queues were chaotic. Hope 2026 is better organized.
Visiting Kedarnath was a life-changing experience. The PM's call to support local businesses is spot on. The handicrafts and woolens from Uttarakhand are beautiful. 'Vocal for Local' makes the pilgrimage more meaningful.
Har Har Mahadev! The Yatra truly strengthens our cultural fabric. It's heartening to see pilgrims from all states come together. The spirit of service and harmony mentioned by Modi Ji is the real essence of the journey.
A 'Viksit Uttarakhand' is key. The infrastructure development has made the Yatra more accessible, but as the PM says, we must balance it with ecological preservation. Discipline from every devotee is non-negotiable.
