Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday extended warm greetings to Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur on the occasion of their Statehood Day, highlighting the rich traditions and resilient spirit of the people of these states and stating that they play a "vital role in strengthening the spirit of the Northeast."

In a post on the social media platform X, the Assam Chief Minister conveyed his wishes to the sister states of Assam. "Warm wishes to our sister States of Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur on their Statehood Day," Sarma posted.

Highlighting the cultural heritage and strength of the people of the three northeastern states, Sarma said that their unique identities contribute significantly to the overall unity and progress of the region. "With their rich traditions and resilient people, each of these States plays a vital role in strengthening the spirit of the Northeast. May they progress with harmony, and may their unique cultural identities always flourish," the post read.

On the occasion of the Statehood Day of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings to the people of these states, acknowledging their contributions to the development and progress of the country.

The PM expressed optimism for the future of the state as he posted on X, "On the occasion of Manipur Statehood Day, I extend my warm greetings to my sisters and brothers of the state. People from Manipur are enriching the progress of India."

In another post, he also praised Tripura for its blend of tradition and modernity, noting that its people are contributing to India's growth trajectory.
