Vikrant Massey says cycling can transform health and help save the environment
Mumbai, June 7
On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, actor Vikrant Massey has highlighted the importance of cycling as a simple yet effective solution to rising pollution and health concerns.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, the 'Chhapaak' actor emphasized that adopting cycling not only helps reduce carbon emissions but also promotes a healthier lifestyle. Vikrant encouraged, especially the younger generation, to embrace it as a daily habit. He shared, "If we ride a cycle, there will be no pollution. And that is the solution to our pollution. Your health will also improve. The government is also incentivizing it."
He added, "If we ride a bicycle, carbon emissions will be reduced. Health will also improve. So, I hope for this movement, especially the younger generation. Today, the youngest rider we have is a 20-month-old boy. He is not even 2 years old, but he is trying to ride a cycle. He is pedaling. It's a wonderful thing."
The 77th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle was organized on World Bicycle Day in the presence of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The event brought together actor Vikrant Massey, boxer Nupur Sheoran, and actor-model Ragini Dwivedi, who participated in promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
On the work front, Vikrant Massey will be seen portraying spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the upcoming drama "White." The film is directed by Montoo Bassi and produced by Siddharth Anand under Marflix Pictures, in collaboration with Mahaveer Jain Films and Peacecraft Pictures. A few weeks ago, the actor met met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and greeted him with a warm hug. Speaking during a satsang, Vikrant was heard saying, "I got the opportunity to play your role... I got the chance in this life to portray a person who, as I said, is my Gurudev, my home, my guide, my everything... so I'm really grateful."
In addition, Vikrant also has "Yaar Jigri" and "Talaakhon Mein Ek" lined up in his upcoming projects.

Love this message! As a Bengaluru resident, our city desperately needs more cycling infrastructure. The air quality is terrible and cycling could help so much. But honestly, I wish they'd focus on making roads safer first - rushing autos and buses make me nervous to cycle daily.
Great initiative! I've been cycling for 5 years now and it's transformed my fitness. But let's be real - in Indian summers, cycling at noon is a challenge 😂 Still, early morning rides are bliss. Also, that 20-month-old boy pedaling is just too cute! Genuinely hope this movement catches on.
While I appreciate the sentiment, infrastructure is the real issue. In Delhi, cycling is almost suicidal on main roads. Govt talks about incentives but where are the cycle tracks? Also, most office workers can't cycle 15-20km daily. Good for short distances and recreation, but let's not oversimplify complex urban problems.
Vikrant is such a grounded actor! Loved him in Chhapaak and excited for his Sri Sri Ravi Shankar role 🚴♀️ But on cycling - it's wonderful for health but we need more awareness. In my colony, people look at you weird if you cycle after age 25 as if it's only for kids. That mindset needs to change!
