Vice President CP Radhakrishnan arrives in Gaya for Bihar MLAs' training programme
Patna, July 11
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Gaya on Saturday to attend a two-day orientation and training programme for Members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The programme is being organised following the constitution of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly.
On his arrival, the Vice President was accorded a warm welcome by senior dignitaries, including Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Prem Kumar, and other senior leaders.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Vice President said, "My heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome accorded to me on my arrival at Gaya, Bihar, by Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Dr Prem Kumar, and other dignitaries."
The two-day training camp, scheduled for July 11 and 12, is being held at the BIPARD campus in Gaya.
All members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly are expected to participate in the programme, which aims to familiarise both newly elected and returning legislators with parliamentary conventions and legislative practices, Assembly rules and procedures, legislative responsibilities and conduct, and effective participation in House proceedings.
The programme is intended to strengthen the functioning of the Assembly by enhancing legislators' understanding of parliamentary processes.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Measures include deployment of additional security personnel, comprehensive traffic management plans, enhanced law and order arrangements, and establishment of a temporary police station near the BIPARD campus to respond promptly to any emergency.
Ahead of the programme, Gaya City DSP Dharmendra Bharti inspected the venue and reviewed preparations related to security deployment, VIP movement, venue management, and coordination among various government departments.
Officials said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the training programme is conducted smoothly and securely.

Good initiative but I hope this isn't just another photo-op. Our MLAs need to understand how to ask meaningful questions during Question Hour and how to use their time effectively. The real test will be in the next session.
As someone from Bihar, I'm cautiously optimistic. The Vice President's presence shows the Centre's interest in strengthening our legislative processes. But we've seen many training programmes before - results matter more than the fancy arrangements at BIPARD.
Very nice! The fact that both old and new MLAs are attending is a good sign. Sometimes even experienced legislators forget basic rules. This orientation could actually reduce the chaos we see during Question Hours. Let's hope for the best! 🌟
I appreciate the security arrangements mentioned - Gaya has its own challenges with law and order. The temporary police station near BIPARD is a smart move. But I wish such attention to security was given to regular citizens too. 🤔
Bihar politics is changing finally. Having a two-day dedicated training for MLAs on parliamentary ethics, rules, and procedures - this is what we need in every state. Good to see Vice President Radhakrishnan taking personal interest in this.
