Uttarakhand CM Dhami directs officials to ensure time-bound resolution of public grievances
Dehradun, July 24
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday heard the grievances and complaints of people from different parts of the state at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister's Camp Office.
According to a release, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that every public grievance is addressed with sensitivity, transparency and within a stipulated timeframe so that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to government offices.
CM Dhami said the state government is committed to public welfare and good governance, adding that the prompt resolution of public grievances remains one of its top priorities.
He emphasised that the accountability of the administration is meaningful only when citizens' issues are resolved efficiently and within the prescribed time. He instructed officials to thoroughly examine every complaint, take appropriate action in accordance with the rules, and keep complainants informed about the progress of their cases.
The Chief Minister said it is the responsibility of the government to fulfil the expectations of the people of Uttarakhand and urged officials to work with a spirit of public service while maintaining sensitivity and accountability in addressing public issues.
He also made it clear that unnecessary delays in resolving citizens' grievances would not be tolerated.
During the interaction, CM Dhami directed Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop and Garhwal Inspector General Rajiv Swaroop to ensure priority-based disposal of the grievances received.
As per the release, CM Dhami instructed that issues which can be resolved at the district or departmental level should be addressed immediately, while matters requiring higher-level intervention should be forwarded to the concerned departments without delay for necessary action.
He further directed officials to strengthen the public grievance redressal system and make it more effective and result-oriented so that every citizen receives timely relief and justice.

Good initiative, but I hope it's not just another photo-op. Uttarakhand mein public grievances ka system kabhi efficient nahi raha. CM sahab ne jo kaha hai woh sahi hai—har complaint ka tracking hona chahiye. Let's see how many IAS officers actually follow through.
As a resident of Haldwani, I say this is the kind of governance we need. Last year my land registry issue took 7 months—imagine, 7 months! If they set a timeframe and stick to it, public will have faith. Kudos to CM Dhami for taking direct feedback. 👏
Yeh sab theek hai, but ground reality abhi bhi wahi hai—babus ki aadat nahi badalti. Sarkaar ko digital portal bana dena chahiye jahan har complaint ka status real-time mile. Right to Service Act already hai, lekin enforcement kahan hai? Let's hope Dhami ji ka pressure kaam kare.
Uttarakhand is a small state with large heart—but officials often forget that public service is their duty. CM sahab ka approach 'sevak' wala hai, jo rare hai. Agar yeh genuinely implement hua, then it could be a model for other states. Fingers crossed! 🏔️
Main Rishikesh mein rehti hoon, aur yahan tourists ki complaints bhi aati hain. Lekin local logon ki to koi sunne wala nahi. Yeh
