Uttar Pradesh CM holds 'Janta Darshan' at Gorakhnath Temple premises, redresses public grievances

UP CM Yogi Adityanath conducts Janta Darshan in Gorakhpur, addresses public issues, and launches 250 eco-friendly waste management vehicles in Lucknow.

"We, however, are worshippers of the sun... We have put LED street lights in every municipal council. - CM Yogi Adityanath"

Gorakhpur, April 2

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday personally reviewed dozens of public grievances during a 'Janta Darshan' program held at the Gorakhnath Temple premises.

Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a 'Janta Darshan' at the CM residence in Lucknow and interacted with the citizens as part of his routine outreach programme.

During Janta Darshan, people expressed their problems and presented their issues before the CM, as he listened to their grievances and issued directions to the officials for resolving them.

CM Yogi, after being elected as the CM of Uttar Pradesh, frequently conducts the 'Janata Darshan' program.

Menawhile, CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday flagged off 250 electric and CNG vehicles powered by environmentally friendly green energy for better waste management by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation in Lucknow.

Addressing the event, the CM highlighted the development of Lucknow over the past nine years, emphasising improved living standards, infrastructural growth, and enhanced safety measures.

"In the last 9 years, Lucknow has achieved new heights of development. In nine years, the scope of Lucknow city has expanded, it has helped improve the standard of living of the people living here, and metro operations have started in Lucknow," said CM Yogi.

He emphasised his administration's commitment to sustainable development and solar energy integration across the state.

"Ayodhya city has been developed as a solar city and Lucknow is also being made solar-equipped on the same lines... There is less discussion of good works, but we will do it so that it increases encouragement," the Chief Minister stated.

Focusing on urban safety, the CM touted the successful implementation of Smart City technologies and LED lighting in the state, drawing a contrast with previous governments, saying, "For those who had the habit of pulling off robberies in the darkness of night, the darkness was just fine. We, however, are worshippers of the sun... We have put LED street lights in every municipal council".

"We have fully covered 18 municipal bodies as safe cities by integrating them with the Integrated Command and Control Center through CCTV," he said, further announcing, "We have decided that we will convert the city bus service into an electric bus service".

The focus on electric buses and solar energy in Lucknow is commendable. We need more such sustainable projects across all cities. Clean public transport can really reduce pollution. 🌿

While the announcements sound good, the real test is implementation on the ground. In my area, the LED lights are often not working. Hope these public grievances get resolved quickly and aren't just for show.

Holding the Darshan at Gorakhnath Temple premises makes it more accessible for devotees and locals. It shows a connection with the cultural heart of the region. More leaders should do such direct outreach.

Interesting to see the blend of traditional public grievance redressal with modern smart city tech. The CCTV integration for safety is a step many global cities are taking. Hope the data privacy aspects are also addressed.

The expansion of Lucknow and metro operations have definitely improved connectivity. But along with infrastructure, we need to ensure affordable living for the middle class. Development should be for all, not just the elite.
