Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday performed Yoga on the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga in Jhansi.

He was felicitated with a sapling on stage at the International Day of Yoga event organised at the Jhansi Fort Ground.

"We are all grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has given global recognition to India's traditions and heritage, and has presented a vision for all of us, enabling 140 crore Indians to move forward with pride in the world, and to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat," he said.

"You must have seen that the Prime Minister himself visits different states every year to take these International Yoga Day events to new heights of success. It is my good fortune that this year I have the opportunity to join you all in this International Yoga Day event on this historic ground in Jhansi," he added.

Honestly, I wish our politicians would focus more on actual governance and development in UP rather than photo-ops at yoga events. The state has issues like law and order, unemployment, and poor infrastructure that need urgent attention. Just saying.

Yoga is a gift from India to the world. PM Modi ji's push for International Yoga Day has made it a global movement. Proud to see our traditions getting recognition. CM Yogi ji's participation in Jhansi adds local flavor to this global event. 🇮🇳

As someone from the US who practices yoga regularly, I appreciate how India celebrates this tradition. But sometimes I wonder if the political hype overshadows the real essence of yoga - inner peace and self-discipline. The health benefits are undeniable though.

Jhansi ka itihaas aur yoga ka mel - bahut achha! (Jhansi's history meets yoga - very nice!) Rani Lakshmibai's fort hosting such a peaceful event shows how far we've come as a nation. The energy at these events must be incredible.

Every year the same speeches - 'grateful to PM Modi, global recognition' etc. But has anyone noticed that most Indians still don't practice yoga regularly? It's become more of a political spectacle than actual lifestyle change. We need more grassroots promotion, not just stage events.
