Officials said discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in regional security, strategic alignment in the Indo-Pacific, and strengthening the broader bilateral framework between the two countries.

Earlier on Saturday, United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, met with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the key sectors of trade, technology, and manufacturing.

In a post on X, after the meeting on Saturday, Sergio Gor said, "Thank you to @CMOGuj Bhupendra Patel for a productive discussion today and a very warm welcome. While the strategic partnership is important, I hope these discussions also address issues like visa delays for Indian students and professionals. That's a major pain point for bilateral people-to-people ties.

$19 billion in semiconductor projects! This is the kind of tech transfer and investment we need. Gujarat leading the way again. Hope the benefits in terms of jobs and skill development reach across the country.

As someone working in the tech sector, the focus on semiconductors is very promising. It reduces our dependency on other countries and builds a resilient supply chain. The US-India partnership seems to be moving beyond just defense to critical technology.

We must engage with the US, but always on our own terms. Our foreign policy should remain independent and strategic partnerships shouldn't come at the cost of our relations with other nations like Russia. A balanced approach is key.

Good to see continuous high-level engagement. The Indo-Pacific is our neighborhood, and having a strong partner like the US helps maintain stability. Hope they also discuss climate change cooperation and clean energy initiatives.
