University of London to set up campus in Hyderabad, says Telangana govt

The University of London is working to establish a campus in Hyderabad, as announced during Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's UK delegation visit. The delegation met with University of London officials, including LSE and SOAS teams, to discuss offering various educational programs. Additionally, the delegation held talks with Cambridge University academics to explore collaborations in education, research, and entrepreneurship.

The University of London is working towards establishing a campus in Hyderabad as Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy-led Telangana Rising delegation held a roundtable at the University's Senate House.

The release noted that Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, along with officials K Ramakrishna Rao and Jayesh Ranjan, met a delegation from the University of London, including teams from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

The University of London is working towards establishing a campus in Hyderabad to offer a wide range of educational courses and programmes from various schools and departments that form part of its academic federation, the release said.

The University of London team included Ms Kavitha Reddi, Ms Ruth Kattumuri (LSE), Mr Paul Madden, Prof Funmi Olonifakin, Dr Sky Zheng, and Mr Keith Harrison.

Earlier, the Telangana Rising delegation held a meeting with an academic team from the University of Cambridge in London and discussed opportunities for collaboration in education, research and entrepreneurship.

During the meeting, CM Reddy, along with IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, K Ramakrishna Rao and Jayesh Ranjan, highlighted the opportunities available for global institutions in Hyderabad and invited them to participate in building a global knowledge hub.

Jaideep Prabhu, Government of India-sponsored Chair of Marketing at Cambridge Judge Business School, and Prof Venkata Serish Gandikota of Cambridge Judge Business School and co-chair of Frugal AI, expressed interest in partnering with Telangana.

Both sides agreed to create a framework for collaboration that would focus on offering education programmes in Hyderabad, promoting research and supporting entrepreneurship incubation.

Also during his visit to the UK, CM Reddy paid a visit to Dr Ambedkar's House in London and called the visit an "inspiration for a lifetime".
