Interesting development. The UAE has been a strong partner for India, and Turkey's stance on certain issues has been... complicated. As an Indian, I hope such dialogues also consider the concerns of all regional partners and promote peace. 🤝
"Regional and international issues of mutual concern" – this is the key phrase. The Middle East is a tinderbox. If two influential Muslim nations are talking and coordinating, it could help de-escalate tensions. That benefits everyone, including the large Indian diaspora in the Gulf.
More cooperation usually means more economic opportunities. Many Indian professionals and workers are in both these countries. Stronger UAE-Turkey ties could open up new projects and job markets. Fingers crossed!
While diplomatic outreach is good, I hope this partnership is based on principles that respect sovereignty and international law. Turkey's foreign policy has sometimes been at odds with those ideals. The UAE should be cautious.
Development partnerships are crucial. If they collaborate on infrastructure and tech, it creates a ripple effect. India has excellent relations with the UAE; hopefully, we can be part of this growth story as a third partner in some sectors.
