As someone who follows the auto industry, this is a strategic masterstroke by Tata. Manufacturing JLR here will improve cost competitiveness and could make India an export hub for these luxury brands. The focus on both ICE and EV from the same plant shows forward-thinking.

While the investment is welcome, I hope the government and the company ensure that the local communities in Ranipet truly benefit. Sometimes these big projects don't trickle down. Need proper skill development programs so that locals get the jobs, not just migrant workers.

TN is really racing ahead in the auto sector! First VinFast, now JLR. Other states need to learn from their industrial policy and ease of doing business. This is how you create a virtuous cycle of investment and employment. Kudos to all involved.

Proud moment indeed! 🇮🇳 Making luxury cars in India for the world. But I also hope the focus on EVs means we will see more affordable electric car options for the Indian middle class soon. That's the real game-changer for sustainability and reducing pollution.

The scale is impressive - 9000 crores! This will have a massive multiplier effect on the local economy, from housing to restaurants to services. Tamil Nadu's infrastructure and skilled workforce are clearly paying off. A strong model for other manufacturing sectors to follow.
