I hope the people in Afghanistan are safe too. Earthquakes don't care about borders... Just goes to show we should all be prepared with emergency kits and plans, especially in northern India.
Another reminder that J&K is in a seismically active zone. The government should ensure our building codes are being followed strictly. One small shake and we're all worried, but better safe than sorry. 🤞
Was sitting in my flat in Jammu and felt the sway. It's always a scary feeling even for a few seconds. Glad it was brief and no damage reported. Let's not ignore these warning signs.
My parents called from Srinagar saying they felt it. It lasted only a few seconds but the panic is real. I wish the authorities would conduct more earthquake preparedness drills in schools and colonies.
Living in the US now but my family is in Kashmir. These tremors always make me nervous from afar. I'm relieved to hear it was just a mild shake this time. Much love to everyone back home.
We get these reminders from Afghanistan every few years. While many get scared, I think it's also a nudge to check if our homes are structurally sound. Safety first, yaar.
