Three days is nothing. What about the rest of the year? The real issue is the state's dependency on TASMAC revenue. Elections come and go, but the alcohol problem remains. We need a long-term policy, not just temporary shutdowns.

As a resident of Chennai, I fully support this. The atmosphere is much more peaceful during these dry days. Less noise, fewer disturbances. If only we could have more such periods for festivals too. 🕊️

Interesting to see this practice. In my country, alcohol sales aren't restricted during elections. It's a different approach to ensuring fair polls. Hope the enforcement is strict and no illegal sales happen.

While the intention is good, I'm worried about people who are dependent. Sudden closure might lead to stocking up or illegal bootlegging. The police need to be extra vigilant. The ban alone isn't enough.

Finally, some peace for three days! The TASMAC near my house is always noisy. This is a relief for families. Hope the voters make wise choices without any "influence". All the best Tamil Nadu!
