Tillotama Shome shares a funny anecdote when she could not recognize Akshaye Khanna
Mumbai, June 29
Actress Tillotama Shome, who will soon be seen sharing screen space with Akshaye Khanna in the forthcoming courtroom drama, 'Ikka' shared a funny anecdote from the time she was unable to recognize the 'Dhurandhar' actor.
Sharing the incident during the trailer launch event of 'Ikka', Tillotama said that once she was heading back after pack-up, and a man came towards her smiling, but she failed to recognize him.
Later, she realized that it was Akshaye Khanna. The reason she did not recognize him was that she had never seen Akshaye smile before that.
Tillotama said, "I never saw Akshay Khanna smile, but one day I was leaving after pack up, and this man was coming towards me smiling so I just smiled and walked off, and then he said, "Tillotama" and I turned back, and it was Akshaye Khanna but I couldn't recognize because he was smiling, so that's why. He was so very lovely, you know."
Meanwhile, shedding light on her character in the movie, Tillotama shared a statement that went, "Madhura is someone who believes deeply in doing the right thing, regardless of the odds. I was drawn to her integrity, resilience and quiet determination. She is a strong woman who isn't afraid to stand her ground or take on the toughest challenges, even when the pressure is immense. IKKA is a story that constantly challenges its characters, and I enjoyed exploring those complexities alongside such a talented cast. I'm delighted to be part of a story like this and thrilled that it will reach audiences around the world through Netflix."
Apart from Akshaye and Tillotama Shome, the core cast of 'Ikka' also features Sunny Deol, Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma, and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, along with others.
Made under the direction of Siddharth P. Malhotra, the movie has been backed by Alchemy Films.
'Ikka' is set to premiere on July 10 on Netflix.

Honestly, this is so relatable! We've all had those moments where we see a familiar face in a new context and just blank out. Tillotama is such a talented actress, and her reaction is so genuine. Can't wait to see her and Akshaye's dynamic in this courtroom drama. Indians will love it! 🇮🇳
Akshaye Khanna smiling? That's a rarity! 😂 He's always so serious in films like 'Dil Chahta Hai' or 'Dhurandhar'. This makes me even more curious about 'Ikka'. Sunny Deol and Dia Mirza being part of the cast is a great bonus. Hope the film does justice to its potential.
Tillotama's description of her character Madhura sounds inspiring. A woman who stands for justice no matter what. It's good to see such strong female roles in Indian cinema. Can't wait for July 10th! 🙌
Nice story, but honestly, the marketing for 'Ikka' has been a bit low-key. I hope it's not another one of those crime dramas that sound good but fall flat. The cast is solid though—Akshaye and Sunny Deol together? That's a powerhouse combo. Let's see if it delivers.
This is so cute! 😂 Akshaye Khanna has such a mysterious aura—I can imagine him suddenly smiling being a shock. Tillotama is such a natural, and I'm glad she's getting more mainstream roles. 'Ikka' on Netflix is perfect for binge-watching with family.
