Telugu actor Sunil plays Sampath Rao in Arya's 'Ananthan Kaadu'

Chennai, June 16

The makers of director Jiyen Krishnakumar's eagerly awaited political action thriller 'Ananthan Kaadu', featuring actor Arya in the lead, have now disclosed that Telugu star Sunil plays a character called Sampath Rao in the film.

Production house Sree Gokulam Movies took to its X timeline to share the first look poster of Sunil in the film and wrote, "'Ananthan Kaadu' Character Poster 8: Sunil as Sampath Rao in #Ananthankaadu. A film by @JiyenKrishna.Written by #MuraliGopy. Produced by @vinod_offl."

The makers have already disclosed that actor Indrans plays a character called Krishnankutty in the film and that actress Nikhila Vimal plays a character called Deepa. While actor Vijayaraghavan plays a character called K K Menon, Santhy Balachandran plays a character called Karthi in the film.

For the unaware, the film is slated to hit screens worldwide on June 25 this year.

The story of the multilingual film, which is being produced by Mini Studio's S Vinod Kumar, has been written by Murali Gopy, best known for his work in Lucifer and Empuraan.

The film has been garnering attention ever since the makers released a title teaser some months ago. The title teaser has a poem being recited in the background even as a series of gripping and intense scenes that are full of action catch your attention.

The poem that is recited in Tamil, when translated loosely, reads, "I swallowed all light to show up as a lightning in the sky! I was born in dry lands to make a revolution bloom. I was showered on blood-stained earth to make it smile. I turned into roots and then trees to grow and stand tall. I don't fall, fearing fate or deceit. I am the dense forest that continues to grow in length. I am a miracle."

The poem seems to define the traits of actor Arya's character in the film. From the poem in the title teaser, it is evident that Arya plays a character that is leading a rebellion and that he is fearless of both fate and deceit. The poem gives the impression that his character is the one that seeks to provide hope for those who are hopeless in the film.

The film features a stellar cast including Regina Cassandra, Nikhila Vimal, Indrans and Sunil among others. It has triggered huge expectations as it boasts of an impressive technical team as well.

The film has cinematography by S Yuva and music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Editing for the film will be by Rohit V S Variyath while lyrics for the songs are by Nishanth Raju. Stunts for the film have been choreographed by R Sakthi Saravanan while Binoy Sadasivan is the VFX director of the film.

That poem in the title teaser gave me chills! "I turned into roots and then trees to grow and stand tall" - such powerful imagery. Hope the film lives up to the hype. Also nice to see Telugu and Tamil actors collaborating more often. 👌

Murali Gopy and Jiyen Krishnakumar - this combo is solid. But I wish they'd release more promotional content. We only know a few character names so far. Still, the technical team is impressive - Ajaneesh Loknath's music always elevates a film. 🤞

Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about Sunil's role. He's mainly done comedy in Telugu cinema, so seeing him in a political thriller is a gamble. But if anyone can pull it off, it's him. Let's wait and watch! 🤔

The cast is stellar - Regina Cassandra, Nikhila Vimal, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan... each one is a powerhouse performer. And that poem? Pure poetry! "I swallowed all light to show up as a lightning" - wow. Expecting a visual treat and some hard-hitting dialogues. 💪

A multilingual film releasing in Malayalam, Tamil, and probably Telugu too? That's ambitious! Hope the dubbing is smooth and the story doesn't get lost in translation. The poem suggests a revolutionary theme - we need more films that inspire change. 🇮🇳
