As someone who grew up in Hyderabad but now lives in London, this gives me so much pride. The city is changing rapidly. Whenever I video call my parents in Kondapur, I see new buildings, better roads, and surprisingly more greenery. If the lake projects work out as planned, Hyderabad could genuinely compete with cities like Singapore in terms of urban planning. Just hope the infra keeps pace with all the flyovers - I remember getting stuck in the same traffic jams for years!
#HyderabadRising is real! I work in the IT sector in Gachibowli, and the difference in the last five years is obvious. But as a woman, I hope the "livable city" vision also includes better street lights, safer public transport, and more women-friendly public spaces. Green is good, but safety is the real foundation. Otherwise, no family will feel comfortable calling this home, no matter how good the lakes are. Let's see what the government delivers.
I've been living in Hyderabad for 3 years now (moved from the US for an AI startup), and honestly, it's the best decision we made. The ecosystem here is so much more affordable than Bangalore, and the people are in general warm and welcoming. If the government can actually pull off the "Future City" and keep the cost of living low, Hyderabad will be unstoppable. The only thing I'd ask - please work on reliable power backup in the older neighborhoods! ⚡
All good intentions, but we have seen so many grand plans before. What about the small lane in my neighborhood in Dilsukhnagar that still doesn't have proper drainage after 10 years? I hope the CM's vision also includes the older parts of Hyderabad, not just the IT corridor and hi-tech city. Metro connectivity is nice, but the common man needs clean water, working street lights, and dust
