Tamannaah Bhatia calls her first collaboration with Sidharth Malhotra for 'Vvan' a "long dream" come true
Mumbai, March 19
Tamannaah Bhatia, who is set to share screen space with Sidharth Malhotra for the first time in the upcoming folk-mythological thriller 'Vvan,' described the collaboration as a "long dream" come true.
The 'Stree 2' actor spoke to the media during the Prime Video 2026 Release Slate event in Mumbai, where it was also announced that the film will stream on Prime Video following its theatrical release.
Tamannaah, who attended the event alongside her 'Vvan' co-star, shared her excitement about finally working with him. "Sid was a long, long dream, and I'm very happy that I've had the chance to collaborate with him. I think he's a really fine actor," she said.
Discussing the film's story, Tamannaah explained that the script impressed her because it blends commercial appeal with a strong emotional core. She also added that, having grown up watching such films, she believes stories rooted in Indian folklore can resonate powerfully with audiences.
"I have to say, it's been a long time since I heard a script for a commercial film, which I grew up loving, that also has a strong soul at its heart. That combination can be extremely powerful," she said.
"And I've seen that happen with some of my previous films that have done well. When I heard the story of this film, I felt it had such a strong anchor, with Indian folklore at the forefront. I truly believe this will be a 'pakka masala' film that leaves you very emotional by the end," she added.
The film follows a rational, urban man who ventures into his ancestral forest despite repeated warnings. His actions awaken a divine goddess, and he soon realises that some powers transcend logic. He must then rise as the village's only saviour to protect his people.
'Vvan' also features Maniesh Paul, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari, and Anup Soni in key roles.
The film is directed by Deepak Mishra and written by Arunabh Kumar. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari.

The concept sounds very interesting. Rooting a commercial film in Indian folklore is a smart move. We need more of our own stories on screen instead of just copying Hollywood templates. Hope the execution matches the promise.
"Pakka masala" film with emotion? That's exactly what Bollywood has been missing lately. Too many films are either just mindless action or too slow. A good balance is needed. Fingers crossed for this one.
The cast looks fantastic! Maniesh Paul and Sunil Grover are guaranteed to bring the laughs, and Shweta Tiwari is a great actress. But I hope the comedy doesn't undermine the mythological thriller aspect. The story sounds promising.
Respectfully, I'm a bit skeptical. The plot of "urban man vs. ancestral forest spirit" has been done before. The success will depend entirely on the writing and direction. Hope Deepak Mishra and team deliver something fresh.
Tamannaah speaking about films with a strong soul really resonates. Our folklore is so rich with lessons and drama. If done right, this could be a huge hit across all age groups. My grandparents would love to watch this with us.
