South Africa quickly took control. The Powerplay was all about Markram and Quinton de Kock, who scored 65 runs without losing a wicket in the first six overs. Great to see the match in Ahmedabad! The stadium looked electric on TV. While SA batted brilliantly, I feel for Canada. They are an associate nation and bowling to this lineup on a flat track at the Narendra Modi Stadium is a huge ask. Hope they put up a fight with the bat.

As someone with the same name as the Canadian bowler, I have to give him credit! 3/31 in 4 overs on this kind of day is a fantastic effort. He created a bit of pressure when others were leaking runs. Shows the importance of bowling smart.

South Africa looks like a serious contender. Their batting has depth now with Stubbs and Miller at 5 and 6. But let's be honest, this was against Canada. The real test will be against the top bowling attacks. Still, you can only beat what's in front of you.

The slow over-rate penalty is becoming a real issue in these tournaments. Even with that, SA posted 213. Imagine if they had the full 20 overs! The ICC needs to find a better solution than just docking runs.

Miller is just ice-cool under pressure. We've seen him do this so many times in the IPL. That partnership with Stubbs killed the game. Canada's bowling lacked a genuine wicket-taker after Patel. 214 is nearly impossible for them, I'm afraid.
