Surbhi Chandna recalls husband Karan Sharma missing family moments to support her acting dreams

Mumbai, August 8

Actress Surbhi Chandna opened up about her 15-year-long relationship with husband Karan Sharma, revealing how he stood by her through every phase of her acting journey, even sacrificing family moments to support her dreams.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Surbhi reflected on the couple's journey, which began when they were just 21 years old.

"We met each other when we were 21. We are 36 now. We have seen everything together. It was basically our childhood. What is 21 years of age? We have grown up together," she said.

The actress shared that the two witnessed each other's personal and professional milestones over the years.

"He saw me doing my MBA. I saw him doing his MBA in London. Then I became an actor, and he has seen my entire acting journey," she said.

Recalling the early days of her career, Surbhi revealed how Karan would accompany her to auditions and patiently wait while she chased her dreams.

"He used to take me for auditions. I would stand in the queue, and he would wait for me in the car. He has missed so many birthdays in his family because he would tell them, 'Yes, I'm on my way,' but he wouldn't reach because my audition was more important," she shared.

Crediting her loved ones for her success, Surbhi added, "The credit for my success definitely goes to him. Of course, my mother also used to take me for auditions, but Karan has been there through every step of the journey."

Talking about how they celebrate milestones, the actress said the couple prefers intimate moments over extravagant parties.

"Even today, whenever we achieve something, we celebrate it. It's always a small celebration, never a big one. Yes, we love travelling, but more than that, we love eating. So, we plan a date night. Sometimes we celebrate in Moscow, sometimes in the Maldives, and sometimes in Malaysia," she said with a laugh.

She added, "We've worked hard, we've earned some money, so we can do this. We deserve it."

For the uninitiated, Surbhi Chandna and entrepreneur Karan Sharma tied the knot on March 2, 2024, in a grand yet intimate ceremony in Jaipur after being in a relationship for over 13 years. Their wedding was attended by close friends and family from the television industry.

This is what a real partnership looks like. He missed family birthdays for her auditions—that's a sacrifice many wouldn't make. But I also hope she's equally supportive of his dreams and family moments now. Marriage is about balance, na? Anyway, lovely to see TV actors sharing such genuine stories. All the best to the couple! 🙏

15 years together and still celebrating small moments with date nights in Maldives and Moscow? That's goals! 😍 It's lovely how they value experiences over big parties. In our culture, we often get caught up in showing off, but this couple seems grounded. Karan Sharma is truly a supportive husband—not many would wait in the car for hours!

Nice story, but I wonder—he missed his own family's birthdays for her auditions? That's a bit concerning. Family should always come first, no matter what. She's lucky to have him, but I hope he also gets equal support for his family commitments. Just my honest opinion. But yes, happy for their success!

As someone from the West, I love how Indian celebrities are increasingly sharing these personal, wholesome stories. This isn't just about Bollywood glamour—it's about real commitment. 13 years of dating before marriage is impressive in any culture. Karan seems like a genuinely supportive partner, and that's what every aspiring artist needs.

This made me emotional! 🥺 It's so rare to find partners who believe in you more than you believe in yourself. From MBA days
