It's heartening to read about the focus on grassroots participation and female athletes. Opening facilities in the evenings for students and working youth is a smart move. This is how you build a sporting culture, not just a few medal winners. Kudos to the Sports Council.

Finally some infrastructure for winter sports! Gulmarg is such a beautiful place, and hosting Khelo India Winter Games there was a masterstroke. Hope this NCOE produces many more international medalists from J&K. Well done to PM Modi and Nuzhat ji. 🇮🇳

Good initiative, but I hope the focus isn't only on winter sports. From the article, it seems the council is working across multiple disciplines—football, athletics, martial arts—so that's promising. However, sustained funding and corruption-free management will be key. Need to ensure these facilities actually reach the youth in remote areas.
