Prime Video has set May 22 as the global premiere date for its upcoming Prime Original courtroom thriller 'System,' a high-stakes drama that delves into the complex intersection of power and justice.

Announced on May 6, the film is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Smitha Baliga under the banner of Baweja Studios.

The system will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and more than 240 countries and territories.

Positioned as a gripping courtroom thriller, 'System' explores a world driven by privilege and entitlement, where justice is not always determined by verdicts alone but often through confronting uncomfortable truths.

The story follows Neha Rajvansh, played by Sonakshi Sinha, a public prosecutor who forms an unlikely alliance with Sarika Rawat, a courtroom stenographer portrayed by Jyotika.

Coming from starkly different social backgrounds, the two women join forces to expose buried injustices, even as they take on powerful adversaries.

The film also stars Ashutosh Gowariker in a key role, alongside an ensemble cast including Preeti Agarwal, Adinath Kothare, Aashriya Mishra, Gaurav Pandey, and Sayandeep Gupta.

I like the concept of a stenographer and prosecutor joining hands – usually they're on opposite sides of the court. Creative! But hope they don't over-dramatize the legal procedures like many Bollywood films do. Real courts in India are messy and slow, but maybe that's what makes it 'system' vs justice. 🤔 Will definitely watch.

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directing a thriller – interesting departure from 'Nil Battey Sannata' and 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'. She has a knack for strong female characters. Sonakshi and Jyotika are both talented but let's be honest, Sonakshi hasn't had a theatrical hit in ages. Hope OTT gives her the comeback she deserves. 🤞

"Power and justice" – sounds like our courts in real life, where the rich get bail and poor rot in jail. If this film addresses that hypocrisy unapologetically, it could be a game-changer. Also glad to see Ashutosh Gowariker in a supporting role; he's underutilized. OTT is truly giving depth to Indian storytelling. 💯

Five writers for this? Hope the story isn't muddled. Too many cooks... But Harman Baweja producing and writing gives me mixed vibes after 'What's Your Raashee?' Still, Ashwiny's track record is decent. I'll give it a shot – courtroom dramas are my guilty pleasure. Sonakshi in a serious role again? Count me in!
