"Some films become milestones...a part of your life": Abhishek Pathak celebrates 11 years of 'Drishyam'
Mumbai, July 31
Filmmaker Abhishek Pathak is celebrating 11 years of 'Drishyam', stating that it has become a part of his life.
"11 years of Drishyam. Some films become milestones, but a few become a part of your life. Drishyam has been both for me," Pathak wrote.
The filmmaker went on to express gratitude to the film's actors Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Rajat Kapoor, among others. He also mentioned late director Nishikant Kamat, adding that he feels excited for the upcoming instalment.
"Forever grateful to Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant, my father Kumar Mangat Pathak, and most importantly, the late Nishikant Kamat. Thank you to our incredible team, and above all, to the audiences who have loved, believed in, and stood by Drishyam for the last 11 years. As we celebrate this journey, I'm filled with gratitude and excited for what lies ahead," Abhishek Pathak added.
In his post, the filmmaker also added popular scenes from the 2011 film, offering a nod to the fan-favourite characters.
The milestone comes at a time when the makers are gearing up for the much-awaited third instalment of Ajay Devgn starrer 'Drishyam'.
In June, Pathak announced the wrap-up on social media, marking the end of what he described as a long and intensive production journey.
The filmmaker shared a heartfelt note thanking the cast, crew and everyone involved in bringing the next chapter of the franchise to life.
"And that's a wrap on the shoot of #Drishyam3," Pathak wrote.
Reflecting on the filmmaking process, he added, "For the past many months, this film has been our world. We've spent countless days and nights together, chasing scenes, solving problems, sharing laughs, overcoming challenges, and slowly bringing this story to life."
Pathak expressed gratitude to the team for their dedication throughout the production schedule.
Featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran, 'Drishyam 3' continues one of India's most successful suspense-thriller franchises. Known for its gripping storytelling and psychological depth, the Drishyam series has earned a strong following among audiences over the years.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.

The way this film keeps you on the edge of your seat even after multiple watches is incredible. Tabu ma'am was brilliant as the cop. Honestly, very few Bollywood thrillers have this kind of re-watch value. Respect to the entire team!
Middle class family man outsmarting the system - that's why we all connected with Vijay Salgaonkar. The scene where he calmly watches the match while the cops question him is still iconic. Just hope Drishyam 3 doesn't disappoint us like some other sequels.
I watched the original Malayalam version first, and the Hindi remake did justice to it. That's rare. The way they adapted the story for a pan-India audience without losing the tension was brilliant. Looking forward to October 2026!
Drishyam isn't just a film, it's an emotion for many of us. The way it highlights a common man's love for his family and his intelligence is something we rarely see in Bollywood. Salute to the late Nishikant Kamat ji for this masterpiece. 🎥✨
Releasing Drishyam 3 on Gandhi Jayanti is a smart move. The franchise has earned that kind of festive release slot. Just hope the story remains as gripping as the first two. The teaser of what's to come gives me chills already!
