Brilliant to see local talent getting a platform and being positively engaged. The anti-drug theme is much needed—youngsters are getting lured into substance abuse due to lack of sports infrastructure in some areas. But I wonder how many such tournaments will continue regularly? One time is good, regular is better.
Great to see community policing through sports! I lived in Chennai for a few years and always felt the gap between police and public was significant. Events like this change perceptions. Chasing 144 under pressure shows Shine CC has good nerves. Congratulations to all teams! 🏏
This is a good start but let's not pretend one cricket tournament will solve the drug problem. The police needs sustained outreach and better rehabilitation programs for addicts. However, I appreciate the effort and the platform given to local cricketers. More power to events that encourage 'Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Sports' ⚾
Wonderful to see community-building through cricket! The tournament produced some great performances—M. Ranjith's 38 under pressure, P. Girish's 4/26, and S. Loganathan's fighting 61 in the semi. Kanyakumari should be proud. Hope this becomes an annual affair! 🙌
Strong work by the Kanyakumari police! Sports is indeed the best way to keep youngsters away from drugs. I played for my college team and it gave me discipline and focus. Shine CC's chase was clinical—reaching 144/7 in 18.4 overs shows proper game awareness. More districts should replicate this model.
