RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to begin two-day Gujarat tour today

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on Tuesday evening for a two-day organisational visit, with the RSS stating that no public events have been planned during his stay.
According to an official statement issued by the RSS Gujarat Province, Bhagwat will arrive at Dr Hedgewar Bhavan, the provincial office of the organisation in Ahmedabad, on the evening of July 28.
On Wednesday morning, he is scheduled to deliver an address at a programme organised by Punarutthan Vidyapeeth, following which he will depart from the city.
The organisation described the visit as being exclusively for internal organisational activities and clarified that "Mohanji Bhagwat's visit is organisational in nature. No public programme has been scheduled."
Bhagwat, who has served as the RSS chief since 2009, makes periodic visits to Gujarat for organisational engagements and interactions with social, educational and religious institutions.
Earlier this year, he visited the state on March 4 and 5, when he travelled to Ahmedabad before visiting the Swaminarayan temples at Vadtal and Jetalpur, where he attended religious programmes and met seers.
He also visited Gujarat in October 2025, during which he attended programmes in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, including a meeting with Jain spiritual leader Acharya Mahashraman.
During that visit, Bhagwat said he came to Gujarat every year to "charge my batteries" while referring to his interactions with the spiritual leader.
Four days ago, Bhagwat also addressed a national gathering in New Delhi, where he stressed the importance of dialogue with young people, saying they should be guided through discussion and understanding rather than commands.
The RSS has not announced any additional engagements for Bhagwat during the current visit beyond the scheduled address at Punarutthan Vidyapeeth, reiterating that the programme is intended for organisational purposes rather than public participation.

"Charge my batteries" - that's a lovely way to describe Gujarat's spiritual energy! I appreciate how Bhagwat ji regularly visits temples and interacts with seers from different traditions. Shows the inclusive vision of Sanatan Dharma.
While I respect the RSS for its organizational work, I wish they would have some public engagement during these visits. Many people want to hear directly from the chief about current national issues. Transparency would help reduce misconceptions about the organization.
His emphasis on dialogue with young people is crucial. Instead of commands, discussion and understanding - that's how you build a nation. I hope more leaders adopt this approach. Gujarat has always been a place of spiritual learning, so this visit makes sense.
As someone who follows Indian affairs from abroad, I find the RSS's organizational meetings interesting. The "no public events" policy seems standard for routine visits. What matters is the consistent work done by swayamsevaks across the country.
