Rock band Bon Jovi abruptly ends Madison Square Garden show after Jon Bon Jovi suffers from sinus infection

Washington DC, July 24

Rock band Bon Jovi's show at Madison Square Garden came to an early end on Thursday night after its frontman, singer Jon Bon Jovi, revealed he was suffering from a sinus infection in the middle of the performance, reported Variety.

About 90 minutes into the set, Bon Jovi told the crowd that he would have to stop the show as he wasn't feeling his best.

"I haven't talked to anybody about anything, but don't throw away your ticket stubs. "I'm going to figure something out, OK? Just hold onto them, we'll figure out how to reschedule. But I'm going to have to cool it for the night," said Jon Bon Jovi in a fan video as quoted by Variety.

He ended the show by saying, "I'll see you again soon."

A rep for the band told People, "Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection which led to the show's early ending. As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly."

According to Variety, Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022, which prevented frequent live performances. The "Forever" tour, which includes the Madison Square Garden shows as well as upcoming dates in the U.K. and Ireland, marks the band's first major tour since his surgery.

"I'm deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring," Bon Jovi said when the tour was announced, as quoted by Variety.

Bon Jovi's last Madison Square Garden show of the "Forever" tour is scheduled for Sunday, after which the band will head across the pond to play Edinburgh on August 28, Dublin on August 30 and two dates at London's Wembley Stadium on September 4 and 6.

It's refreshing to see artists prioritize their health, especially after that vocal cord surgery in 2022. But honestly, why schedule such intense tours right after recovery? Could have paced it better. Still, mad respect for the band—"Livin' on a Prayer" gets me nostalgic every time!

I was at that show! The energy was incredible until he stopped. Sinus infection made sense—he was coughing between songs earlier. People near me were disappointed, but most understood. Hope they honor the ticket stubs for reschedule. See, American artists actually care about their fans! Unlike some Bollywood stars who just lip-sync through illness. 😅

Respect for Jon Bon Jovi for being transparent. In our country, many artists just cancel shows last minute without explanation (lookin' at you, some recent concerts). At least he told the crowd directly and promised to make it right. That's class. Get well soon, legend!

I know a sinus infection can mess up your voice big time. But 90 minutes into a show? Could've at least done an acoustic set or let the band play instrumentals for a bit. The ticket stubs promise is good, but all those people paid for a full experience. Hope they get a proper makeup show.

This is why I prefer smaller venues in India. Less risk of such disruptions! But seriously, Jon Bon Jovi is a rock icon—his health comes first. I remember when our own Indian Ocean cancelled midway due to heatstroke in Bangalore; fans understood. Good music deserves good health
