"Recovering": Cristiano Ronaldo shares update after suffering hamstring injury

Cristiano Ronaldo shares an update on his hamstring injury recovery. Al Nassr confirms diagnosis, raising concerns for club and Portugal national team.

"Recovering and ready to watch the game today. Let's go, Al Nassr! - Cristiano Ronaldo"

New Delhi, March 7

Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo shared an update on his fitness and support for his club Al Nassr FC, saying he is recovering and looking forward to watching the team's game.

"Recovering and ready to watch the game today. Let's go, Al Nassr!" Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram handle.

The Portuguese star's message comes as Al Nassr prepare for their upcoming fixture, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on the forward's return to action.

A few days back, Ronaldo, who is the skipper of Al-Nassr, suffered a hamstring injury during their recent Saudi Pro League match against Al-Fayha, according to Goal.com.

The Saudi club confirmed Ronaldo's injury on Tuesday, stating that he has begun his recovery. In an official statement, Al-Nassr said: "Cristiano Ronaldo has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury after the last game against Al Fayha. He started a rehabilitation program and will be under evaluation day by day."While the club provided information about the injury, they did not specify a timeline for his return to action.

The 41-year-old forward had to leave the field late in the game against Al-Fayha, clearly in pain. Although the Saudi side claimed all three points, it was a frustrating night for the Portuguese forward, who had earlier missed a penalty in the 12th minute. He signalled to the bench and was substituted by Abdullah Al-Hamdan in the 81st minute.

The setback comes at a pivotal moment as Al-Nassr look to protect their small lead atop the Saudi Pro League points table. The league's top scorer for Al-Nassr with 21 goals to his name this season, Ronaldo now faces uncertainty over upcoming matches.

Al-Nassr are set to play Neom SC and Al-Khaleej in March, while Ronaldo's participation in Portugal's international friendlies against Mexico and the USMNT later this month is also in doubt.

Notably, Ronaldo's injury also raises concerns over the star footballer's fitness ahead of the FIFA 2026 tournament, which is set to run from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Both Al-Nassr and the Portugal national football team will hope that their captain's recent injury is only a brief setback and not a serious long-term issue.

Hamstring injuries can be tricky, especially at his age. Hope the medical team doesn't rush him back. It's more important he's fully fit for the 2026 World Cup. Portugal's chances depend on it!

As a football fan from Mumbai, this is worrying news. The Saudi league is physical and the schedule is packed. Maybe it's time for him to manage his minutes more carefully? Still, get well soon legend! 💛

His mentality is something else. Even injured, he's supporting the team from the sidelines. That's true leadership. Al Nassr should be able to handle a few games without him, they have a strong squad.

Respectfully, while I admire Ronaldo, the article feels like it's blowing things out of proportion. It's a hamstring strain, not a career-ender. Players get injured all the time. The focus should be on Al Nassr's next match and how they adapt.

Speedy recovery, Cristiano! 🏆 My son in Delhi is a huge fan and was so upset hearing this news. Hoping to see you back on the pitch soon, maybe even for a friendly in India someday!
