Rakul Preet Singh Overjoyed as 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' Becomes YouTube's Most-Watched Indian Film

Actress Rakul Preet Singh expressed gratitude as her 2017 Telugu film 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' became the highest-watched Indian film on YouTube. She shared a post thanking fans and director Boyapati Srinu for the achievement. The film, starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Rakul, was released in August 2017. Rakul is now set to play Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming mythological drama 'Ramayana'.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh expressed gratitude as her 2017 Telugu romantic actioner 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' became YouTube's highest-watched Indian film.

In her latest social media post, Rakul revealed that Janaki will be one of those characters for her that will stay with her forever.

"Some characters stay with you forever, and Janaki will always be one of them. Thank you for all the love you've shown and for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka the highest-watched Indian film on YouTube ever. This is a special feat. (sic)," read the post.

The 'De De Pyaar De' actress also gave a special shout-out to the director Boyapati Srinu, saying, "A special thank you to @boyapatisrinu_official sir and the entire team for this unforgettable journey."

Made under the direction of Boyapati Srinu, 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' has been backed by Miryala Ravinder Reddy, under the banner of Dwaraka Creations.

Talking about the cast, led by Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Rakul, the drama also features Jagapathi Babu, Tarun Arora, Pragya Jaiswal, Sarath Kumar, Nandu, Suman, Jayaprakash, and Vani Viswanath in key roles, along with others.

The music for the film has been scored by renowned composer Devi Sri Prasad. The technical cast further includes Rishi Punjabi as the cinematographer with Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao as the head of the editing department.

'Jaya Janaki Nayaka' reached the cinema halls on 11 August 2017.

Up next, Rakul has been roped in to play Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated mythological drama "Ramayana".

The much-awaited project will star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, along with others.

Made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, "Ramayana" has been backed by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and VFX studio DNEG in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations.

Happy for Rakul! She's come a long way from her modelling days. But I must say, Boyapati Srinu's mass masala films aren't exactly my cup of tea - too much violence and hero worship. Still, it's a big deal for Telugu cinema to achieve this YouTube milestone. 🎉

I'm more excited about her playing Surpanakha in Ramayana! That's going to be epic with Ranbir and Yash. This YouTube news is nice, but really - highest-watched Indian film on YouTube? That's a bit vague, there must be many other films with more views. Still, good for Rakul. 😊

As a Telugu film lover, this makes me proud! Jaya Janaki Nayaka may not be Boyapati's best work, but it has that typical mass appeal. Rakul's expressions as Janaki were actually quite good. Can't wait to see her as Surpanakha - that's going to be a challenging role! 🔥

Wait, what? Jaya Janaki Nayaka? That film was average at best when it released. But I guess YouTube success is different - maybe it's because of Bellamkonda Sreenivas's fan base or Devi Sri Prasad's music. Still, good for Rakul - she handles both Bollywood and Tollywood well. 👍
