Rajasthan civic polls phase 2 records 70.68 pc voting, overall 72.95 pc

Voting for the second phase of Rajasthan's urban local body elections wrapped up on Friday with 70.68 per cent turnout across 147 bodies. The first phase on September 9 saw 74.76 per cent polling, bringing the combined two-phase figure to 72.95 per cent. Counting of votes and declaration of results are scheduled for September 14.

Voting for the second phase of the Rajasthan local body elections concluded on Friday across 147 urban local bodies, recording an overall voting percentage of 70.68 per cent.

Overall, the voter turnout was 72.95 per cent in two phases, according to election department data.

The second phase covered 147 local bodies, including six municipal corporations, 20 municipalities and 121 municipal councils.

A total of 4,774 polling stations were set up for the second phase.

According to the data, 87,63,595 voters were eligible to cast their ballots in the second phase. Of these, 61,93,865 voters exercised their franchise.

Highest voting was recorded in Balotra's Dhorimanna which was 91.59 per cent, while lowest polling was reported at Sirohi which was 62.03 per cent.

The second phase followed polling held on September 9 across 162 urban local bodies.

The first phase recorded a turnout of 74.76 per cent, according to the election data.

Across the two phases, elections were conducted in a total of 309 urban local bodies.

The combined voter turnout was recorded at 72.95 per cent.

The election department had made extensive arrangements for polling across the constituencies, with polling stations established across the urban local bodies covered in the second phase.

The first phase of polling on September 9 covered 162 urban local bodies, including four municipal corporations, 21 municipalities and 137 municipal councils.

Meanwhile in last civic elections, the total polling per cent was 70.31 per cent.

The second phase brought the polling process for the state's 2026 urban local body elections to a close.

The election results are scheduled to be declared after counting of votes on September 14.
