The safe return was made possible through the combined efforts of the Indian diplomatic mission in Qatar and several community organisations.

Ambassador Vipul, along with Eish Singhal, First Secretary at the Embassy, worked closely with local and Indian community groups to ensure prompt assistance. Organisations such as the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), Punarjani, and Singh Sewa Group Qatar played a critical role in monitoring his health and providing continuous support. Community volunteers from Punarjani and Singh Sewa Group regularly visited Parminder, ensured he received proper care, and provided home-cooked meals, helping him stay comfortable in a foreign environment.

While I'm glad he's home safe, this also highlights a worrying trend. So many of our people are getting stranded due to geopolitical issues while trying to travel for work or education. The system needs to be more proactive, not just reactive in emergencies. Still, kudos to the teams on the ground.

Shoutout to ICBF, Punarjani, and Singh Sewa Group! 🇮🇳 These community organisations are the unsung heroes for our diaspora. They do so much work that goes unnoticed. This coordinated effort between them, the embassy, and even Qatari institutions like Hamad Medical is commendable.

As someone who has lived abroad, this story hits close to home. The emotional toll of a medical emergency overseas is immense. The fact that Qatar Airways and the hospital cooperated so well is also a positive sign of international goodwill, even during tensions. Wishing Parminder a speedy recovery.

This is why we pay our taxes! To see our embassies function like this and protect citizens abroad. Ambassador Vipul and his team have done a fantastic job. More power to them. We need to hear more of these positive stories about our diplomatic corps.

A brain stroke is so serious. The logistics of getting someone stable enough to fly back home must have been incredibly complex. Huge respect for the medical professionals involved. Hope Parminder's family has all the support he needs now for his recovery journey.
