The expenditure limits seem reasonable, but I wonder if candidates actually stick to them in Punjab. Campaigns get so expensive these days, especially in municipal corporations. Transparency is key, but enforcement matters more.

Good that Model Code of Conduct is in place. But will it really prevent muscle power and money power in Punjab? Recent reports suggest otherwise. Hope the observers appointed actually do their job. 👀

As a resident of a small town in Punjab, I appreciate that Nagar Panchayat expenditure limit is just Rs 1.4 lakh. Means smaller candidates can contest too. But 35,500 police personnel for 104 bodies? That seems excessive unless law and order is a real worry.

Hats off to the State Election Commission for organizing this with 36,000 poll personnel. But let's be real—local body elections in Punjab often see low turnout due to voter apathy. Maybe more awareness campaigns are needed. 🗳️

Impressive numbers: 18,98,990 men, 17,73,716 women—almost equal participation. Good sign for democracy. Just hope the candidates are actually connected to local needs instead of being dynastic puppets. Free and fair is the minimum expectation.
