Punjab CM dedicates two Schools of Eminence to Ludhiana

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday dedicated two new Schools of Eminence to Ludhiana, taking its tally in the district to 16.
The new campuses, equipped with modern classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, an auditorium and other advanced facilities, are part of the state's efforts to strengthen public education and provide world-class learning infrastructure to students.
Asserting that sustained investment in education has transformed government schools into institutions of excellence, the Chief Minister said improved infrastructure, overseas teacher training and modern teaching practices have led to a growing preference for government schools among parents.
CM Mann said Punjab has risen from 27th to the number one position in school education across the country, reaffirming his government's commitment to building a healthy, educated and drug-free Punjab through quality education for every child.
The Chief Minister also spent time interacting with students during his visit to the newly inaugurated School of Eminence. Mann visited classrooms, science laboratories and other academic facilities, where he took stock of the modern infrastructure and interacted with students about their studies, scientific experiments and learning experience.
CM Mann also met teachers and school staff, appreciating their dedication towards strengthening the education system in the state. During the visit, several students enthusiastically sought the Chief Minister's autograph, while some presented him with handmade portraits as a token of affection and gratitude.
At the function, a parent also presented the Chief Minister with a bouquet and lauded the government's initiatives to transform the education sector under his leadership.
Addressing the gathering, CM Mann said, "Today is a historic day for the people of Punjab, especially for the residents of Ludhiana. Two new Schools of Eminence buildings at Kidwai Nagar and Miller Ganj are being dedicated to the people. "With these two additions, Ludhiana now has 16 Schools of Eminence, making it the first district in Punjab with the highest number of Schools of Eminence."

Good initiative, but I wish they'd focus on the rural areas too. My village school still has just two teachers for 200 students. Ludhiana and other big cities get all the attention, but what about the small towns and villages? 🙏
This is genuinely impressive. From 27th to number 1 in school education is no small feat. My daughter's government school in Patiala now has proper labs and even a robotics club. Things are changing, and it's about time we acknowledge that!
I'm a retired school teacher from Ludhiana. I remember when government schools were the last choice for parents. Seeing this transformation is emotional for me. But please ji, also focus on teacher training and their salaries - infrastructure alone doesn't make a school great.
As someone who moved to Ludhiana from the US for work, I'm impressed with this investment in public education. The schools I've visited here rival some private schools back home. Keep it up, Punjab! 🇮🇳
The "drug-free Punjab" thing he mentions is actually connected to education. Kids who are engaged in school are less likely to fall into bad habits. These schools give them something to work towards. Good job, and hope they continue this program!
