Firstly, Modi ji should address issues at home before going abroad so much. But I guess neighborhood diplomacy is important too. Let's see what concrete outcomes come from this meeting - trade agreements, connectivity projects... hope it's not just photo ops. 🙏
Myanmar is our gateway to Southeast Asia, Act East policy needs this engagement. The leadership in Myanmar has been through a lot of internal challenges, but India maintaining diplomatic channels is smart. Let's hope for some positive developments on the Kaladan project and border fencing.
Another foreign visit, another photo op. Meanwhile, inflation is eating common man's savings. But nobody cares about aam aadmi. What's the use of such meetings if they don't benefit ordinary Indians? 😒
The security dimension here is crucial. Myanmar shares a long border with India, and we've had issues with insurgent groups taking shelter there. NSA Doval's meeting shows this is a priority. Culturally, Bodh Gaya visit was brilliant - Buddhism connects us deeply. Well played, Modi government. 🚀
As someone from Manipur, I see this visit differently. Myanmar's internal situation directly affects our border states. The drug trade and illegal immigration are real concerns. Wish the article had more specifics on what was actually discussed regarding border management.
