"Authority with humility" – what a powerful and necessary reminder for all civil servants, especially those with significant power like IRS officers. Their role in tracing illicit funds is more important than ever for our economy.

Direct taxes are indeed the backbone for funding development projects. Hope these new officers take the President's words to heart. We need officers who see taxpayers as partners in nation-building, not just subjects for scrutiny. The goal of Viksit Bharat depends on this partnership.

It's heartening to see the focus on "human sensitivity" alongside technological capability. Often, the human touch is missing in tax matters. Also, great to see our friends from Bhutan training with our officers – strengthens our bonds. 🙏

With great power comes great responsibility. The IRS has a tough job, balancing collection with facilitation. My respectful criticism: sometimes the on-ground reality for common taxpayers doesn't match the ideal of "prudence" mentioned here. Hope this new batch can bridge that gap.
