Penelope Cruz admits to multiple health scares, says "I worry about staying healthy..."
Los Angeles, July 6
Actor Penelope Cruz has revealed facing health scares like a brain aneurysm multiple times.
In a recent interview, Penelope Cruz, who previously admitted to being warned by a doctor about a possible brain aneurysm, "I have had many scares like that. Fortunately, I'm fine; it was a false alarm, but I worry about staying healthy, taking care of myself," she said, according to E! News.
The actress confirmed taking every measure that she can for her health.
"I don't drink. I don't smoke. I really don't party. Without health, we have nothing. You want to talk about real equality? Why don't we start with health?" she continued.
Expressing gratitude for her continued health, Cruz added, "In my twenties, people were already asking me if I was afraid of getting older. I got asked that question so many times. My way to battle it then was just not answering. I was not going to give weight or importance to that question."
Earlier in May, Penelope Cruz revealed being warned about a possible brain aneurysm while she was working on 'The Black Ball', as per Variety.
"And then when we're about to go out, I was putting on my wig, and they said, 'Oh, apparently you have some brain aneurysm'. I thought I was about to die. This is something that was totally surreal in my life," she said at the time.

I appreciate her honesty about health scares. But I also think she's privileged - not everyone can afford all those check-ups and lifestyle choices. In India, a brain aneurysm scare would bankrupt most families. Still, good message about health being priority.
Really respect how she's handling aging and health with grace. In Hollywood, people are so obsessed with looking young, but she's focusing on what matters - actual health. That line about "not giving weight to the question" about aging is powerful.
This reminds me of our Indian philosophy - "Sharir madhyam khalu dharma sadhanam" (the body is the primary instrument for fulfilling one's duties). Penelope is echoing the same wisdom. But let's be honest, most of us only start worrying about health after a scare. That's the real lesson.
Good for her! It's refreshing to see a celebrity talk about health proactively rather than just promoting beauty products. Her point about equality starting with health is spot on - healthcare access should be a basic right everywhere.
Brain aneurysm scare while putting on a wig sounds terrifying! Imagine getting that news when you're about to perform. Shows how fragile life is. My mother always says "health is the real wealth" - Penelope is speaking universal truth. 🙏
