Our Goal is to win T20 Mumbai League 2026: Eagle Thane Strikers' Sairaj Patil
Thane, May 23
Eagle Thane Strikers batter Sairaj Patil is gearing up for the upcoming edition of the T20 Mumbai League 2026 with a clear focus on improving his game and helping the team go one step further this season after their semifinal finish in the previous edition.
Sairaj, who emerged as one of the standout performers of the tournament last year and was adjudged the Player of the Tournament, said he has been working hard on refining different aspects of his game ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking ahead of the season, Sairaj Patil said, "I am just working on my areas to improve and getting into the groove before the tournament starts. The aim is to outdo what I achieved last year and contribute even more to the team this season."
Reflecting on the team's campaign in the previous edition, where Eagle Thane Strikers narrowly missed out on a place in the final after losing in the semifinals, Sairaj stated that the squad is determined to make a stronger impact this year.
"Last year we lost in the semifinals, but this season our goal is to play the finals and win the championship. The team is motivated, and everyone is looking forward to giving their best for Eagle Thane Strikers," he added.
The Eagle Thane Strikers will once again be led by a talented squad featuring experienced India all-rounder Shardul Thakur alongside several promising youngsters as they aim for a successful campaign in Season 4 of the T20 Mumbai League.
The T20 Mumbai League 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 1 to June 13, with Eagle Thane Strikers set to begin their campaign against Bandra Blasters in the opening fixture of the tournament.

Good luck to Eagle Thane Strikers. But I hope the league focuses more on developing young players from smaller towns rather than just giving opportunities to already established names like Shardul Thakur. Real talent is in our villages, yaar. Just my honest opinion.
Nice to see cricket thriving in Mumbai's local circuit. Player of the Tournament last year - that's some achievement. Sairaj seems to have a good head on his shoulders, talking about areas to improve rather than just boasting. Looking forward to watching the matches!
June 1 to June 13 - just two weeks of cricket? That feels too short for a league with so much potential. Should be at least a month-long tournament like the IPL. But still, excited to see local talent shine. Go Strikers! 💪
Sahi hai bhai! Local leagues like this are the backbone of Indian cricket. Sairaj Patil is a great example of how consistent performance at domestic level can build a career. Hope he gets a chance in bigger leagues. All the best to Eagle Thane Strikers! 🏆
Love the passion for cricket in Mumbai. It's not just the IPL that matters - these local tournaments create real heroes. Sairaj's focus on improvement rather than past success is impressive. Hope the league gets more coverage on TV too.
