Operation Milap: Delhi Police reunite 193 missing persons with their families in June

The South-West District Police have successfully reunited 193 missing persons, including 48 missing/kidnapped children and 145 missing adults, with their families under 'Operation Milap' during the period from June 1 to June 30.
According to Delhi Police, Operation Milap has continued to bring relief to hundreds of families by tracing missing children and adults and ensuring their safe return. During the first six months of 2026, from January 1 to June 30, the district police recovered a total of 866 missing persons, including 226 minor children and 640 adults.
The police stated that immediately after receiving reports regarding missing or kidnapped persons, dedicated search operations were launched by the concerned police stations.
Local enquiries were conducted extensively, while CCTV footage from various locations was examined to identify the movement of the missing individuals. Photographs of the missing persons were displayed at auto-rickshaw stands, e-rickshaw stands, bus terminals and railway stations to generate public assistance.
Police teams also questioned bus drivers, conductors and local vendors to gather information about the movement of the missing persons. Local informers were actively involved in the search operations, while records of nearby police stations and hospitals were thoroughly checked to obtain possible leads.
As a result of these swift and coordinated efforts, the South-West District Police succeeded in tracing 193 missing persons, comprising 48 missing or kidnapped children and 145 missing adults, between June 1 and June 30. The recovered individuals were safely reunited with their families under Operation Milap, reflecting the dedication and professionalism of the police teams.
Providing details of the operations carried out during the period, the police said that Police Station Vasant Vihar traced 10 missing adults, comprising four males and six females, all of whom were successfully reunited with their families.
The staff of Police Station R.K. Puram traced two missing or kidnapped minor children, including one boy and one girl, in the age group of one to 18 years. The police station also recovered three missing adults, comprising one male and two females. All five individuals were reunited with their families.
Police Station South Campus traced six missing females, while Police Station Vasant Kunj North recovered two missing or kidnapped minor girls and four missing adults, including one male and three females.
The staff of Police Station Vasant Kunj South recovered six missing or kidnapped minor children, including one boy and five girls, besides tracing nine missing adults, comprising two males and seven females.
Similarly, Police Station Kapashera traced seven missing or kidnapped minor children, including one boy and six girls, along with 10 missing adults, comprising six males and four females.
Police Station Palam Village recovered six missing or kidnapped minor children, including two boys and four girls, in addition to tracing 11 missing adults, comprising seven males and four females.
Police Station Sagarpur traced 15 missing adults, including seven males and eight females, while Police Station Delhi Cantt recovered seven missing adults, comprising three males and four females.
The staff of Police Station Sarojini Nagar traced two missing or kidnapped minor children, including one boy and one girl, and also recovered two missing adult males.
Police Station S.J. Enclave recovered six missing adults, including four males and two females, while Police Station Kishangarh traced five missing or kidnapped minor children, including one boy and four girls, along with five missing adults, comprising one male and four females.
The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), South-West District, played a significant role by tracing 18 missing or kidnapped minor children, including six boys and 12 girls. All the children were safely reunited with their families.
The District Missing Persons Unit (DMPU), South-West District, also made a major contribution by tracing 57 missing adults, including 18 males and 39 females, all of whom were safely reunited with their families.
The police further stated that during the operations conducted between June 1 and June 30, several missing persons and kidnapped children whose cases had been registered in previous years were also traced.
The year-wise breakup of the recovered persons shows that one female missing since 2019 was traced, along with two females missing since 2021. The police also recovered three adults from cases registered in 2022, including two males and one female.
In addition, 16 persons from 2023 were traced, including one minor girl and 15 adults comprising seven males and eight females. The operations also led to the recovery of 20 adults from 2024, including five males and 15 females.
Further, 34 persons reported missing in 2025 were traced, including two minor girls and 32 adults, comprising 11 males and 21 females.

So heartwarming! 48 children reunited... each one of them could have been trafficked or worse. The fact that they're even solving cases from 2019 and 2021 shows dedication. But yaar, I wish the response time for missing persons was faster across all police stations, not just when a special operation is running. Still, this is genuine good work. Delhi Police gets a lot of hate, but this deserves appreciation.
Impressive numbers. 866 recovered in six months from just one district. But what about the cases that go unreported? Many poor families in Delhi don't even file complaints because they think police won't take action. Kudos to the teams for this operation, but we need a more proactive system where every missing person case is taken seriously from day one. Still, 193 families smiling today... that's beautiful. 🙂

The way they're taking help from e-rickshaw drivers and local vendors is very desi but effective. 👏 South-West District police should be a model for the rest of Delhi. Keep it up!
Nice to see some positive news about Delhi Police for a change. The anti-human trafficking unit recovering 18 children is especially important. But let's be real - most of these missing persons are running away from domestic issues, poverty, or abuse. Unless we address those root causes, operations like this will always be playing catch-up. Still, for the families who got their loved ones back, this is a miracle. Respect to the officers doing the ground work.
