As a regular traveler from Siliguri to Guwahati, I've seen ticketless passengers jump off at stops to avoid checks. This is a massive improvement! The Rs 2.08 crore figure is mind-blowing—imagine how much was lost before. Hope they keep up the drives and also focus on general coach overcrowding. NFR is finally getting its act together! ❤️
Bahut achha hai! But I'm a bit skeptical—ticket checking se itna revenue? Either they caught hundreds of thousands of passengers or many are paying fines repeatedly. The problem is many poor people travel without tickets because they can't afford it. Instead of just fines, maybe NFR should offer affordable unreserved passes for daily commuters in North Bengal and Bihar. Still, kudos to the staff for their dedication.
This is impressive but also saddening—shows how much money railways was losing every month due to lax enforcement. NFR covers some of India's most challenging terrain, so hats off to the NJP team for achieving this in May. The single-day high of Rs 9.65 lakh on May 9 is incredible! Now please use some of this revenue to maintain platforms and waiting rooms, especially in smaller stations across Assam. ✨
Very good development for NFR! But I wonder if the revenue is just from fines or also includes regular ticketing. My suggestion: invest this money in improving connectivity to remote areas of Northeast India—like better trains for Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur. The staff in New Jalpaiguri have set a benchmark; other railway divisions should learn from their meticulous enforcement and teamwork. Well done!
