Addressing the upper house of Parliament during the ongoing budget session, PM Modi said that every member plays a unique role, adding that their experience and contribution will always be remembered.

"Discussions take place on various issues in the House, and every member plays a unique role in them. In moments like these, a common sense of respect is generated, rising above party lines. To the leaders who are leaving the House after the end of their tenure, I want to say that there is no full stop in politics. The future is waiting for you. These days, perhaps it is gradually decreasing. But our Athawale is evergreen. Athawale is leaving, but no one here will feel any shortcoming. I am fully confident that he will continue to serve satire and humour in abundance."

While the ceremony is nice, I hope the focus remains on the work they did. Some of these MPs have been in Parliament for decades. What is their real legislative legacy? The tribute should be matched by tangible achievements for the people. 🤔

PM Modi's mention of Ramdas Athawale ji was spot on! He truly brings a unique, light-hearted energy to the House. Politics needs such personalities who can make serious points with humour. Wishing all retiring MPs the very best for their future! 🙏

Interesting to see this tradition. The emphasis on learning from veterans like Deve Gowda, Kharge, and Pawar is crucial for continuity in a democracy. Hope the new MPs take this advice seriously.

Rashtrapati Bhavan is the perfect venue for such an occasion. It adds the necessary dignity. 37 MPs is a big number retiring. A significant changing of the guard in the Rajya Sabha. Excited to see what the new members bring to the table.

The PM's words about rising above party lines for respect are beautiful. If this spirit could guide everyday parliamentary proceedings, we would see much more productive sessions. Less disruption, more discussion please!
