'New dawn of trust': Nitin Nabin ahead of BJP govt formation in Bengal

BJP forms first-ever government in West Bengal; Nitin Nabin calls it 'new dawn of trust' as Suvendu Adhikari set to become CM.

"A New Dawn of Trust. Today, the first ray of the Sun in Bengal has arrived carrying new hope and trust. - Nitin Nabin"

New Delhi, May 9

As the Bharatiya Janata Party prepares to form its first-ever government in West Bengal on Saturday, party National President Nitin Nabin described the development as a "new dawn of trust" and expressed confidence that the state is entering a new phase of growth and governance.

In a post shared on X, Nabin said the beginning of the BJP rule in Bengal symbolises fresh hope among the people for development, security and better governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"A New Dawn of Trust. Today, the first ray of the Sun in Bengal has arrived carrying new hope and trust" in Bengal's development, security, respect for women, employment opportunities for youth, good governance, change and in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Nabin wrote.

"With the trust of the common people, a new government in Bengal is taking oath. Vande Mataram," the BJP President added.

Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to take oath as the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal at a grand ceremony scheduled to be held at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.

Suvendu had won both the Assembly seats he contested -- Nandigram and Bhabanipur. From Bhabanipur, he defeated Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to witness the presence of top BJP leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, several Union ministers and chief ministers from NDA-ruled states.

The BJP's historic government formation in West Bengal comes days after the results of the Assembly elections were declared on May 4, paving the way for a major political shift in the state.

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah formally announced Suvendu Adhikari as the BJP Legislature Party leader and the next Chief Minister of West Bengal.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Shah with newly elected BJP legislators following the party's emphatic performance in the Assembly polls, which ended the long-standing rule of the Trinamool Congress in the state.

Interesting times for West Bengal. But I hope this 'new dawn' brings genuine security and respect for all communities, not just a political agenda. Let's see how they handle the economy.

Vande Mataram! 🚩 Bengal has been crying for development and women's safety for years. Mamata di's era was full of corruption and chaos. Looking forward to a clean government under BJP. Suvendu ji, don't let us down!

Let's be cautious about over-romanticizing this. Change is good, but we've seen many governments come with big promises only to leave people disappointed. The real test will be in the next 6 months - will infrastructure improve? Will unemployment drop? Let's wait and watch.

As a Bengali living in Mumbai, I'm cautiously optimistic. We needed a change from the TMC's hooliganism and appeasement politics. But BJP must respect Bengal's unique cultural identity and not impose a one-size-fits-all model. Balance is key! 🤞

Great news! Finally Bengal will get rid of the Didi syndrome. Her arrogance and divisive politics have cost the state dearly. Suvendu Adhikari is a ground-level leader who understands people's problems. Ab Bengal badlega! 💪
