Nawazuddin Siddiqui excited to return to theatre after nearly 25 years with 'Naqaab'
Mumbai, July 2
After nearly 25 years, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to make a much-awaited return to the stage with 'Naqaab'.
Excited about the play, Nawazuddin, in a press note, shared, "Theatre is where I discovered myself as an actor. It taught me honesty, patience and the courage to stand in front of an audience with nothing but your craft. Returning to the stage after nearly 25 years feels like coming home."
This return holds even greater significance as he will be sharing the stage with his daughter, who is beginning her own acting journey.
"What makes this journey even more emotional is that I will be sharing the stage with my daughter as she begins her own acting journey. As a father, there couldn't be a prouder moment. I only hope the audience embraces her with the same love and generosity they have always shown me," he said.
Nawazuddin described 'Naqaab' as a "story filled with suspense, humour and surprises".
"I can't wait to experience the magic of live theatre with everyone once again," he added.
'Naqaab' is written and directed by Paritosh Painter.

Oh, this is beautiful! A father-daughter duo on stage after so long. Nawazuddin's journey from theatre to films and back is truly inspiring. Can't wait to see 'Naqaab'!
Nawazuddin is one of the few actors who can make any character come alive. Returning to theatre after 25 years shows his dedication to the craft. Hope the play gets the applause it deserves! 👏
Great news for theatre lovers! Nawazuddin is a powerhouse performer. But I hope this isn't just a one-off gimmick to promote his daughter. Let's see if 'Naqaab' lives up to the hype. 🤔
Wow, this is such a heartwarming story! Theatre is the soul of acting, and Nawazuddin returning to it is like a homecoming. And sharing the stage with his daughter? Pure magic. 🎭✨
Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical. Nawazuddin is a brilliant actor, but 25 years is a long gap. Theatre requires a different kind of stamina and spontaneity. But if anyone can pull it off, it's him. All the best!
