Mumbai, June 8

Actress Namita Dubey, who is receiving a lot of positive response to her recently released streaming series 'Made in India: A Titan Story', has called JRD Tata, the architect of modern India.

The actress spoke with IANS during the promotional run of the show along with her co-actors Jim Sarbh and Vaibhav Tatwawadi.

Talking about the show, the actress told IANS, "I can't believe that this story hasn't been told yet. That was my first sentiment when I got through the reading of the entire show that we did with the entire cast together. So I was like, this is a story that is, it is, nobody knows about this in India. I obviously knew the entire arc of Mr. Tata. Whatever he's done and achieved the kind of achievements that he's and he's got so much of like social and cultural capital to this country, you'll never forget, he's one of the architects of modern India. So these were things which I have come to know after reading the script. So, I felt so compelled to read, and to see".

"So, there was nothing for me to even think twice about. I'm glad that people will watch it and they'll come to know who Xerxes Desai was because I had no idea that this was the journey of him as a character", she added.

The show also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Lakshvir Saran, and Kaveri Seth.

The series resonates with the spirit of the Make in India initiative, which aims to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub. 'Made in India - A Titan Story' is available to stream on Amazon MX Player.

As someone who studied business history, I think this is a wonderful initiative. The Tata legacy of ethical capitalism and nation-building is something the world should learn from. Namita Dubey's excitement is contagious!

While JRD Tata was indeed remarkable, let's not forget the contributions of other industrialists like G.D. Birla and Walchand Hirachand who also built modern India. But yes, this series is a must-watch for every proud Indian! 👏

I'd never heard of Xerxes Desai before, fascinating how many unsung heroes contributed to India's industrial growth. This is exactly the kind of content we need more of - educational and inspiring.

JRD Tata didn't just build companies, he built institutions that educated and employed generations of Indians. From TIFR to TISS to the Tata Group itself - his vision was truly ahead of its time. No wonder Namita is so passionate about this!

I appreciate the respect being shown to Mr. Tata, but let's also remember that India's modern architecture was built by millions of farmers, workers and soldiers too. Still, this series sounds wonderful - will definitely watch it! 😊
