Nadir Godrej is set to retire as Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej Industries on August 13 after a 25-year stint, with the board appointing him as Chairman Emeritus effective August 14.

The board has also conferred the title of Chairman Emeritus on him from August 14, alongside his brother Adi Godrej.
"The Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors of the Company at their respective Meetings held today i.e., April 13, took note of willingness of Nadir Godrej to retire and step down as the "Chairman and Managing Director" of the Company with effect from close of business hours on August 13," the firm said in its regulatory filing.

It's heartening to see such a dignified transition in a family-run business. Appointing him as Chairman Emeritus is a nice touch, honoring his legacy while making way for the next generation. Pirojsha Godrej has big shoes to fill!
His contribution to research and patents is often underrated. In a country that needs more R&D, leaders like him who push for innovation in sectors like agriculture are true assets. Hope the new leadership continues that focus.
While I respect his service, I hope this leadership change brings fresh perspectives. Sometimes old conglomerates can get stuck in their ways. Maybe the new chairperson will drive more digital transformation and sustainability initiatives.
Godrej is one of those brands every Indian trusts. From locks to animal feed, they're everywhere. Nadir Godrej played a huge part in that. 25 years at the helm is no small feat. Salute to his dedication! 🇮🇳
Interesting to observe from a corporate governance perspective. The structured succession and the clear regulatory filing show a level of professionalism that should be a model for other family-owned businesses globally.
